Donald Trump hints lack of interest in a phase two US-China trade deal

US President Donald Trump hinted he has lost interest in a potential phase two trade deal with China, the latest sign yet of worsening relations between Washington and Beijing amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

“I don’t think about it now,” Trump said on Friday when asked about the possibility of another deal, adding that the US-China relationship “has been severely damaged”.

“Honestly, I have many other things in mind.”
