Updated Update Regarding ZTE

While ZTE’s not completely off the hook, the Denial Order imposed by the Bureau of Industry and Security has been lifted. According to BIS, “ZTE has made full and timely payment of the $1,000,000,000 [penalty] and has complied with the escrow requirements relating to the $400,000,000 suspended portion of the civil penalty.”

ZTE must continue complying with the terms of its settlement agreement with BIS during its ten-year probationary period. Unless it has another relapse, however, the company no longer is on the Denied Persons List.
