The federal agency charged with ensuring U.S. businesses get a fair shake could itself be faced with a lack of competition as its lease in Southwest D.C. nears expiration.
The U.S. International Trade Commission, which probes high-profile issues ranging from allegations of Chinese hacking to the Trans-Pacific Partnership, is now based at 500 E St. SW under a lease set to expire in August 2017. The General Services Administration is working with the commission to explore its options, according to a notice posted to FedBizOpps.gov, including shrinking from 207,000 square feet now to 158,000 square feet or less in a new location.
